that's such a great question! thank you for asking. we are interesting hobbies club, a four-piece alternative rock band based out of los angeles, CA. we have been releasing music and playing live since 2019, when we met at occidental college and recorded our first songs under the name zero degree. since then, we have played shows across california, at venues ranging from the historic moroccan and silverlake lounge, to napa valley wineries, to literal caves on the ocean.

interesting hobbies club is composed of four boys -

 

jules, lead singer, guitarist, piano player and producer: hailing from pasadena california. he lends his angelic voice and brilliant songwriting talents to the band, and without him we wouldn't have anything. fun fact: jules currently works at the eagle rock trader joes, and rules the cheese section with an iron fist.

alex, bassist: that's me, i am the one writing all of this right now. i am proudly from baltimore, maryland, and moved to the west coast for college. in my first choir rehearsal at school, i met jules and one week later joined interesting hobbies club. my bass is heavily inspired by my dad's music taste: i grew up listening to bands like nirvana, the police, and the red hot chili peppers. fun fact about me: i am currently ranked #18 in southern california for the game super smash brothers ultimate.

max, drums and production: max is the core of everything we do. he brings a combination of subtle yet genius drum ideas to the table, and he's also pretty much the most genuine and coolest person ever. he almost completely solo-produced our first two records, and for that we are forever grateful. fun fact about max: he is a biochemist, and loves one piece !

chis: chis. he is our lead guitarist and shreds like no one else. when not in interesting hobbies club, he can be found playing shows on bass for bambino and the baby-toothed boys, and drums for the sqeelers. chris is currently training to be an electrician while working at a restaurant. he is the best gamer out of the four of us, and can be found carrying our asses in fortnite or making sick minecraft bases. fun fact about chis - he will literally always have a buzzball on him, no matter the circumstance. ​​​​​​
